Prescription Medication Drop Off

The West Allis Police Department has a 24/7 prescription medication drop off box in the front lobby of the police department, which is located at: 11301 W. Lincoln Ave., West Allis, WI 53214

This program is completely anonymous and helps our environment, prevents accidental poisoning, prevents identity theft, and helps reduce substance abuse and drug distribution.

Accepted Items

Items that are accepted include: 

  • Inhalers

  • Liquid medication in a leak proof container

  • Medication samples

  • Pet medications

  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications

  • Vitamins

The process is simple. Just bring in "accepted" medications and place them into the green drop box in the center of the lobby.

Unaccepted Items

Items that are not accepted include: 

  • Aerosol cans

  • Bloody and infectious waste

  • Creams

  • Household waste

  • Hydrogen peroxide

  • Illegal drugs

  • Needles

  • Ointments

  • Personal care products

  • Syringes

  • Thermometers

Unpackaged Pills

While unpackaged pills and medications should not be placed in the drop box, it is helpful to combine loose pills into a single secure bag or container that can be deposited into the drop box and to discard excessive packaging before depositing pills and medication into the drop box.
