Children's Bike Rodeo

  • The Liberty Heights Park Neighborhood Association, West-Allis - West Milwaukee Recreation Department, the City of West Allis Police Department and the Southwest Suburban Health Department teach safe biking skills at the Children's Bike Rodeo each summer. At the rodeo, children can go from station to station to learn a variety of safety and riding skills and gain confidence in their skills.

Community Bike Rides

  • In 2023, the City hosted it's first community bike rides. The first, the East Allis Mayor's Ride was hosted by Grebe's Bakery during National Bike Week in June 2023. This slow-roll, no-drop ride toured the East Allis neighborhood and included people of all ages and abilities. OPE! Brewing Co. hosted another ride in September, and Layman Brewing hosted the first Halloween bike ride in October.

Cycling Without Age

  • The Wisconsin Bike Fed's Cycling Without Age Program brings the amazing feeling of riding a bicycle to those who are not able to pedal on their own. At the Senior Center's Health Fair, the Wisconsin Bike Fed brought this program to West Allis for the first time, offering tri-shaw rides to attendees.
