REMINDER ON THE AUGUST 9 PARTISAN PRIMARY, EARLY VOTING, & ABSENTEE BALLOTS
The Tuesday, August 9 Partisan Primary Election is almost here. Polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.; plan ahead and find your polling place. You can register to vote through our City Clerk's Office until August 5, or at your polling place on August 9! More information on these deadlines, at www.myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Voter-Deadlines.
Looking to vote absentee in-person? Here are your upcoming opportunities at City Hall (7525 W. Greenfield Ave.):
- August 4 from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- August 5 from 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
If absentee voters wish to re-vote their absentee or early-voted ballot, you can request to spoil your absentee ballot and have another ballot issued, as long as you meet your deadline to request a new absentee ballot. Please remember that once these deadlines pass, a returned absentee ballot cannot be changed, and the voter cannot be issued another ballot on Election Day. You must come in-person to City Hall during normal business hours from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with your ID to request your ballot be spoiled. (We will be open however until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 5.) You may re-vote at that same time you come in. You may also make your request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your attached ID, and you must make this request by the following described deadlines.
Earliest Deadline to Request Spoiling: Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 5 p.m.
This is for regular absentee voters to be able to:

- To vote at their polling place on Election Day

COMMUNITY OUTDOOR PIANO TO BE PLACED AT KEGEL’S INN THIS WEEK
Special delivery! If you recall, a community art project has been underway with the City, involving a community piano. After being specially painted and decked out by Inspiration Studios thanks to studio owner Erico Ortiz, the piano is being placed outdoors today for its first adopted home at Kegel’s Inn, 5901 W. National Ave. Come on by and check it out!

A reminder for those who already got their tickets, as sales have closed, that today is the Downtown West Allis Fair Food Crawl. Thirteen West Allis Restaurants try their take on Wisconsin State Fair Classics.

Have you or someone you know had a recent fall? The West Allis Health Department and Senior Center are partnering to hold a 7-week falls reduction program called Stepping On. If you are 60 years or older and have had a fall in the last 12 months, you can join this program by calling the West Allis Senior Center at 414-302-8700. This program is free of charge for Senior Center members!
