Celebrate summer with Food Truck Friday, this week at the West Allis Farmers Market, 6501 W. National Ave. from 5 - 8 p.m.!  

Friday, July 23 Line Up: 

  1. Live Music: Orlando Peña 
  2. Beverage Vendor: Westallion Brewing 
  3. Food Vendors: Firewise BBQ, MilWOKee, Shorty's Grilled Cheese, Dollhouse Sweet Shoppe, El Sazon Dominicano, Frankie's Restaurant, Chilwaukee, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Lake Effect Coffee, Lola's Empanadas 

The West Allis Health Department will also be giving free COVID-19 vaccines at the Food Truck Friday event from 5 – 7 p.m. 

  • No appointment needed. 
  • Anyone 12+ is eligible to receive the vaccine. Both the Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer BioNTech vaccine will be available. 
  • Everyone who gets a vaccine at this event will also receive a FREE Wisconsin State Fair ticket!!!  


The West Allis Police Department will NOT be hosting their traditional National Night Out event later this month due to the effects the COVID pandemic has had on planning this event. National Night Out is NOT going away, however! WAPD looks forward to a great National Night Out on July 25, 2022.
The West Allis Police Department WILL be holding an Open House on Sunday, Sept.19, 2021, between noon - 3 p.m. at the West Allis Police Department Satellite Station, 6900 W. National Ave. This event will have police and fire personnel and vehicles, K9 demonstration, activities for kids and food. More information and reminders to follow about this event. WAPD hopes to see you there.
Interested in learning more about West Allis Police Department? The Citizen Police Academy is a ten-week informative overview of the West Allis Police Department’s operations designed to provide the citizens of West Allis a first-hand look. Classes will be held on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 15 through Nov. 17, 2021 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the West Allis Police Department, 11301 W Lincoln Ave. Each week’s topic will provide insight into the West Allis Police Department. Participants are also provided with the opportunity to ask experienced officers questions about police services. Register here: 


Work by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is underway with the WIS 100 (S. 108th Street) resurfacing project from I-43 to Hank Aaron State Trail. The following work is scheduled for the next phase of this project, which began July 20: 

  • Westbound traffic on Arthur Avenue between WIS 100 and 102nd Street has closed to traffic for approximately two weeks for paving operations.  
  • Northbound and southbound traffic on WIS 100 turning left onto Arthur Avenue has closed to traffic for approximately two weeks while crews perform paving operations. 
  • Alternate Route: Motorists are encouraged to use 102nd Street, National and Cleveland Avenues, and WIS 100 to get around the closures. 


On Saturday, July 31, South 72nd Street will be closed for a public event hosted by All Goods MKE, a vintage clothing store located at 1411 S. 72nd St.
