Cart Lift Adapter (2013)
Cart Lift Adapter, which was a lift put on the back of the garbage trucks that allowed the employees to simply push the garbage carts onto the lift mechanism instead of using extra force.

The West Allis Police Department developed and initiated a new training component to their overall staff development programming.

Garbage Cart Transporter (2014)
The City won an award for a Garbage Cart Transporter, a jig used to unload and move the garbage carts from the flatbed truck when they get delivered to DPW and when moving garbage cart inventory.

Graffiti Abatement Program (2009)
2009 - WAPD Graffiti Abatement Program The City of West Allis Police Department developed and implemented a comprehensive and community based Graffiti Abatement Program.

Helper Jack (2012)
The Helper Jack is a stand used to support the 150 lb. core drill used by Streets and Sanitation employees to cut holes in the concrete basins.

Hi-Visibility Enhancer Panels (2014)
The second award for 2014 was for Hi-Visibility Enhancer Panels developed by Streets and Sanitation employees to make their work zones more visible to passing motorists.

New Officer Training Program (2006)
The New Officer Training Program in the WAPD was designed to build upon and enhance basic law enforcement skills previously attained in the State of Wisconsin certificate programs.

On-Site Training Program (2005)
The City of West Allis Police Department developed a comprehensive on-site training program to provide internal education and sworn personnel career development.

The City of West Allis Police Department developed a THINK program which has been taught in the 5th and 6th grade classrooms.

Traffic Control Safety Program (2010)
The City of West Allis Public Works Department (DPW) developed a comprehensive “Traffic Control Safety Program” to supplement the Manual of Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines.

Trench Rescue Procedure (2004)
The City of West Allis DPW developed and initiated an emergency Trench Rescue Procedure as it relates to the Department’s Trenching and Excavation Policy.

Vac-All Vision Enhancement/Step Saver (2013)
The Vac-All Vision Enhancement and Step Saver Program increased the visibility out the front window of the Vac-All and decreased the number of steps taken by employees on every job.

Work Zone Safety Enhancement (2013)
The first award in 2013 was for a Work Zone Safety Enhancement Program. This is a program that allows DPW employees to call and ask for a Police Officer to set up close to their work zone.
