Dog & Cat Licenses
Dogs and cats are required to be licensed in the City of West Allis.
Cats: Any person owning, keeping or harboring a cat more than five months of age on January 1 of each year, shall annually or within thirty days from the date such cat becomes five months of age, pay, in a manner provided by the City Treasurer, a cat license fee and obtain a license for such cat. Dogs Any person owning, keeping or harboring a dog more than five months of age on January 1 of any year, shall annually, or within thirty days from date such dog becomes five months of age, pay in a manner provided by the City Treasurer, a dog license fee in obtaining a license for such dog. Animal Fancier Permit
Animal Fancier is any person in a residential dwelling unit who shall keep, harbor, raise or possess any combination of more than two (2) dogs over the age of five months and/or four cats over the age of five months, to a maximum of four dogs and/or six cats. Due date for obtaining your pet’s license is March 31 of every year. The fee for spayed/neutered pets is $12, and the fee for unaltered pets is $24. If the license is not applied for by March 31, there will be an additional late fee of $6 or $12 based on whether your pet is spayed/neutered.
Please provide a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate and neutered/spayed documentation when applying for the license for your dog or cat.

There is a $1 processing fee if you submit your payment to Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC) online or by mail. When you mail your license fee payment directly to the West Allis Clerk’s Office, there is no additional processing fee. Contact 414-302-8220 for more information.
