Accreditation Unit
Comprised of an accreditation specialist.

Communications Unit
The Communications Center handles 911 and non-emergency calls in West Allis. The Center also provides critical support to Police and Fire field units as well as neighboring Police and Fire agencies.

Community Services Unit
The Community Services Unit provides crime prevention services to the community and strives to develop cooperative and trusting relationships between the Police Department and community members.

Court Services Unit
The Court Services Unit is comprised of the Court Liaison Officer and 2 Warrant Officers.

Criminal Investigations Unit
The Criminal Investigations Unit is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to the citizens of West Allis by utilizing tactical crime analysis, innovative technology, creative investigative techniques, and partnerships with citizens, businesses, and other law enforcement agencies to effectively and efficiently investigate criminal activity relating to our community. Although our investigations originate in West Allis, they may extend well beyond our geographic boarders. This requires Detectives to conduct follow up investigations in neighboring jurisdictions, which is why our professional partnerships are of extreme value and importance.

Forensic & Technical Services Unit
Comprised of 2 detectives, an IT specialist, a crime analyst, and a records management specialist.

Records Unit
The Records Unit is responsible for maintaining and updating all department records and files. The Records Unit also collects fees for copies of reports as well as for permits and citations.

Patrol Shifts
Patrol Officers are always ready and willing to handle a wide variety of situations as well as serve and protect the citizens of West Allis on a daily basis.

Sensitive Crimes Unit
The Sensitive Crimes Unit investigates crimes including, but not limited to, sexual assault, child neglect, physical abuse of a child, elder abuse, CHIPS cases, juvenile death, juvenile crimes, and runaways. Detectives work closely with the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare and the Child Protection Center at Children’s Hospital and many other agencies.

Special Investigations Unit
The Special Investigations Unit is responsible for the investigation of vice-related crime including but not limited to offenses surrounding illegal drugs / narcotics, gang-related offenses, weapons, prostitution, gambling, and pharmaceutical diversion. The SIU focuses on these offenses at a local level. The SIU also works in conjunction with other local, state and federal agencies in the Milwaukee area to address these offenses regionally, which directly affect our community.

Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT) Team
SWAT is comprised of officers who are specially trained officers to handle high-risk situations.

Training Unit
The Training Unit is responsible for the implementation, delivery, and coordination of training programs in the Police Department.
