Tap Permits (New Water Service)

Contractors are required to obtain a tap permit for new connections to water mains

Contractor Requirements:
  • Contractor should contact the Water Utility office at (414) 302-8830 to verify tap size and main size
  • Contractor must coordinate scheduling new tap connections with Water Utility office at (414) 302-8830 at least 3 business days prior to project start due to some parts may not be readily available
  • Contractor will provide a minimum 5' x 5' safe trench per OSHA standards and approved by Water Utility personnel
  • City personnel will install the water main tap
  • For taps 3 inch and larger, City will provide tap, valve, and valve box
  • For taps small than 3 inch, City will provide corporation stop, curb box, and curb stop
  • Contractors must pay permit fee online or in the form of a check according to the fee schedule listed below, checks should be made payable to: City of West Allis and can be mailed or dropped off to West Allis Municipal Water Utility at 6300 W. Mc Geoch Ave, West Allis, WI 53219 Hours:  Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm
