Fire Operations

The West Allis Fire Department is designated by the Insurance Service Office as an ISO Class 1 agency and is accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).  The department, which protects a population of approximately 60,000 people in 11.4 square miles, is headquartered at 7332 W National Avenue and employs 105 sworn members and 1 civilian.

Calls for Service

The West Allis Fire Department responds to calls out of three fire stations. In 2022 the West Allis Fire Department responded to 11,640 calls for service. These calls were broken down into the following categories:

  • Fire: 148
  • Explosion: 8
  • Emergency Medical Service: 9,351
  • Hazardous Condition: 281
  • Miscellaneous Service: 259
  • Good Intent: 656
  • False Alarm: 933
  • Severe Weather: 4
  • Other: 0

Fire Station 61

Fire Station 61 is located at 7300 W. National Avenue, with a response area from the east city limits to 92nd Street, the north city limits to the Union Pacific railroad tracks (1900 block south). 

The following apparatus are staffed at Fire Station 61 - Engine 61 and Med 1.

Fire Station 62

Fire Station 62 is located at 2040 S. 67th Place, with a response area from the east city limits to 92nd Street, the south city limits to the Union Pacific railroad tracks (1900 block south). 

The following apparatus are staffed at Fire Station 62 - Battalion 6 (Shift Commander), Engine 62, Truck 62, Ambulance 62 and MIH 62.

Fire Station 63

Fire Station 63 is located at 10830 W. Lapham Street, with a response area from the west city limit (124th Street) to 92nd Street, the south city limits (3500 south) to the north city limits (100 south).
