Volunteer Opportunities

West Allis is a dynamic and diverse community with many opportunities for residents to "get involved" in activities that enhance the community. Volunteer contributions are a value-added enhancement to City services and provide the volunteer with a unique perspective of City government and non-profit organizations. Volunteers have an opportunity to discover new interests, meet new people, and develop new skills. Assignments can be made available on a long and short term basis depending on the needs of the department and volunteer. Your volunteer services are greatly appreciated.

If you are interested in a volunteer position, please review the Volunteer Handbook.  Please contact the City of West Allis Volunteer program at volunteer@westalliswi.gov or 414-302-8357 if you have any questions.

West Allis Farmers Market COVID-19 Volunteer Program

In response to COVID-19, West Allis Farmers Market (WAFM) is in need of volunteers to help ensure a safe shopping experience for all. Volunteering at the market is a critical community service that will allow our farmers and thousands of shoppers to keep their local market thriving throughout the season. Committing to just one shift a week will be incredibly helpful.

The West Allis Farmers Market offers a wide variety of seasonal produce, fresh meats and eggs, honey and maple syrup, fresh-cut flowers and annual plants, and prepared foods from local, Wisconsin farms. We open later in the day so our vendors can bring the freshest produce and products, picked and prepared that morning, to you.

The West Allis Farmers Market operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon – 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1 – 6 p.m. The market will be open from 11 a.m. – noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays for seniors and vulnerable shoppers to shop in a less-crowded atmosphere.
