In 2012, the City won a significant award for a Helper Jack, an idea submitted by the Streets and Sanitation employees. The Helper Jack is a stand used to support the 150 pound core drill used by Streets and Sanitation employees to cut holes in the concrete basins. Using the Helper Jack stand turned a two person job into a one person job and made the drill easier to use and stabilize.
