Age-Friendly West Allis
About
In June of 2023, the City of West Allis was inducted into the AARP network of Age-Friendly Communities, recognizing the City's efforts to create an age-friendly community that's safe, accessible and enjoyable for residents of all ages from the very young to the very old, and everyone in between.
In the next five years, the City will work towards creating and implementing a community action plan through the following steps:
Establish a working group to include older residents in all stages of the age-friendly process.
Conduct a community needs assessment.
Develop an action and evaluation plan based on the assessment results.
Implement and work toward the goals of the plan.
Assess the impact of implementing the plan and submit progress reports.
Share solutions, successes and best practices.
Repeat.
