Refuse & Recycling

At this time DPW is still working on details for the new cart based recycling program.  Any new information will be made available on the City's web site and social media and in the City newsletter.

Weekly refuse collection is provided to one, two, and three family residences in the City of West Allis.  Refuse must be accessible to crews at an alley or curb location by 7:00 a.m. on the assigned day of collection.

The City provides every other week recycling collection service for one to four family residences.  Recyclables should be placed at the curb or alley edge by 7:00 a.m. on the same day as your refuse collection.  Recyclables should be contained in a 30 gallon see through plastic bag with a tie.

Back door collection service will be provided to households experiencing medical hardships and, for an annual service fee, to other households requesting the additional service.

Refuse and recyclables may also be dropped off at the Municipal Yard.

For items that are currently accepted for refuse and recycling, see Refuse and Recycling FAQ's below.
