WIC

WIC provides food vouchers, nutrition information, and referrals to other providers to help keep pregnant women, breast-feeding women, infants and children less than five years of age healthy and strong. WIC vouchers are used to purchase foods such as milk, fruit juice, cheese, peanut butter, tuna fish, carrots, cereal, dried or canned beans and peas, eggs, fruits and vegetables, whole grain bread or tortillas, brown rice and infant formula.

You are eligible for WIC if

  • You live in Wisconsin
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding or a new mother
  • You have an infant or children under 5 years of age
  • You or your children have a health or nutrition need
  • You have a household income (before tax deductions) that is less than or equal to WIC income guidelines. Many working families qualify. A pregnant woman counts as two family members.
