  2. Cross-Town Connector Bike and Pedestrian Trail Public Involvement Meeting

March 29, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ City Hall, Common Council Chambers

The City of West Allis and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) would like to invite you to the second of two Public Involvement Meetings for the Bike and Pedestrian Bridge over WIS 100. This is Phase 2 of the three-phase West Allis Cross-Town Connector Trail Project. The ultimate trail construction will eventually extend five (5) miles across the City, include on-road bike routes, and link with the Hank Aaron State Trail on the west side of the VA Medical Center via S. 56th Street. The proposed pedestrian and bike bridge will span approximately 150 feet over WIS 100 (currently with six traffic lanes). The preferred location for the bridge would be adjacent to an existing Union Pacific Railroad overpass which will remain in place. The purpose of the meeting is to provide you a status update of the project and to share the current design and plans for traffic control during construction.
