Bublr Bikes Comes to West Allis

Bublr Bikes Logo
The City of West Allis is pleased to announce that Bublr® Bikes, Milwaukee’s bike share program, is establishing eight Bublr Bike stations throughout the City. A ribbon cutting at the West Allis Farmers Market, 6501 W. National Ave., will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 3 p.m. to officially launch Bublr in West Allis.

Bublr Bikes eliminates barriers that prevent people from biking in the city by providing well-maintained bicycles and theft-proof bicycle stations.  Single rides, which can last up to 30 minutes, cost just $3.  Riders may pay as they go, or purchase 30 day or annual passes online.

West Allis’ entrance into bike share is due in part to a $400,000 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant from the Federal Highway Administration administered jointly by the City’s Engineering and Development Departments.

These types of competitive grants encourage the development of small-scale alternative forms of transportation, such as biking or walking. The remaining 20% of project funding was delivered through private donations from local redevelopment projects. No local taxes were used to fund this program.

By encouraging people to take trips they may not have otherwise taken, Bublr Bikes helps people connect with businesses, events, and all that West Allis has to offer. Get ready to explore!
