  1. Neighborhood Partnership Meeting

    The West Allis Police Department will be hosting their quarterly Neighborhood Partnership Meeting. Neighborhood Partnership Meetings have been extremely valuable in addressing neighborhood concerns, while updating citizens on current law enforcement issues, crime trends, and challenges that impact our quality of life. Presenters will include Chief Patrick Mitchell, Deputy Chief Chris Botsch, and Deputy Chief Robert Fletcher.

  1. Wonderful Ones Storytime

    This storytime is for children who are 9-23 months old and a caregiver. Each session includes age appropriate songs, rhymes, and books. Following each storytime, there is a short playtime. Registration is required and can be done in person, online, or by calling the library at 414-302-8502 starting September 5.

    The Plan Commission consists of the Mayor and seven citizen members who are appointed by the Mayor for three year terms.The Plan Commission is responsible for guiding the orderly development of the City through oversight of both current and long range City Planning activities consisting of the following: Land Use Planning; Site, Landscaping and Architectural Review; and, Comprehensive Planning.Meetings are convened on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm.The Plan Commission is supported by staff from the Department of Development, Planning & Zoning Division.

Senior Center Programs & Activities

  1. Pocket Billiards

    October 25, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM @ Senior Center

    Play billiards from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at the West Allis Senior Center (billiards may be cancelled if a special event is scheduled in the lower level). A donation of $.25 per session is requested. These funds help maintain the billiards equipment. Open to all Senior Center members.

  2. Walk With Ease

    Looking for relief from arthritis pain? Just want to be active? The Arthritis Foundation's Walk With Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life. Walk With Ease is designed to help people living with arthritis better manage their pain, but it's also ideal for people without arthritis who want to make walking a regular habit. If you can be on your feet for 10 minutes without increased pain, Walk With Ease may be for you. Classes are one-hour each, three times per week for six weeks.

    Learn to make traditional Japanese Temari or Kusudama Curlers, Polish Porcupines and Ecuadorian Eight Point Stars in this fun paper crafts class. Participants work at their own pace to create these beautiful handicrafts, which make wonderful gifts, decorations, and ornaments. Materials are provided. Free for all Senior Center members.

  4. Arthritis Exercise Classes

    Join Shirley Laux, certified Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Instructor, for these gentle exercise classes. Relieve arthritis pain through gentle motion and activities designed to help increase joint flexibility and increase range of motion, while gaining muscle strength. These sessions feature gentle stretching, low intensity aerobics and chair exercises. Free for all Senior Center members.

  5. Folk Dance Class

    Join instructor Sandy McCormack for lively folk dancing classes. No partner or prior experience needed. Folk dance is not only fun, but increases balance, agility, and coordination. It’s a great workout! Open to all Senior Center members.

  6. Senior Meal Program

    October 25, 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM @ Senior Center

    The Milwaukee County Department on Aging Senior Meal Program is open to all seniors aged 60+ and their spouse of any age. Advance reservations are required by noon the day before. Call 414-289-6995 to reserve a meal. Participants are encouraged to contribute $3 per meal to help defray program expenses.     Feeling depressed or anxious? You are not alone, and support is available. Seniors are invited to join this peer support group, facilitated by a caring member of West Central Interfaith. Free and open to the public, but new members are encouraged to the Senior Center in advance to ensure this week’s session is meeting.
